Our most popular tour, this exciting and scenic trip introduces you to the people and cultures of Zululand and Swaziland, with visits to the oldest and largest game reserves in Africa. Contact Us for further information. We meet and greet at Durban International Airport and depending on your time of arrival a visit to the magnificent new soccer stadium awaits you. Here you can go by funicular to the top of the stadium for a spectacular view of Durban City. We then travel north along the John Ross Highway, branching off near the town of Gingindlovu and on to Shakaland, situated on the Phobane Lake where you learn more of the Zulu Culture, taste Zulu beer, see basket weaving and watch an enthralling display of Zulu dancing by firelight. DAY 3
A trip on an off-road vehicle through the iSimangaliso Wetlands, (meaning place of marvels and wonders) will show why this area became South Africa's first world Heritage Site. Find out more about the five different eco systems whilst enjoying short walks. You may wish to snorkel and if it is the right time of year whale watching at the beautiful pristine beach of Cape Vidal is possible. A picnic lunch is provided. ![]() We travel north towards Swaziland, where we visit places of interest including the Ngwenya glass works, the Swazi candle makers and a colourful market place at Mbabane. A visit to King Sobhuza's memorial is also on the day's agenda. We overnight at a small hotel near the forest. DBB. (Lunch at own expense). In the morning we take a slow drive through one of the finest scenic routes of Swaziland, taking you along a winding tarred road fringed by mountain scenery that is interspersed with gorges and waterfalls. Kruger Park, a game park like no other extends over a distance of 380kms, from the Limpopo River in the north and the Crocodile river in the south. We take a slow drive to Lower Sabie, this is a lush, highly pleasant camp, scenically arranged along the lower reaches of the Sabie River. It is conveniently placed in the middle of excellent game viewing country. We overnight here. Traditional potjie or braai for dinner. (Lunch own expense) ![]() We drive slowly on to Skukuza camp, where we have lunch. Game viewing is good in this area. We pay a visit to a special hide to watch birds, hippos and other wild life associated with this area. We stay at Skukuza in an air-conditioned bungalow. Leopards are often spotted on night drives here. (Dinner is for your own account). DAY 8 After breakfast we leave the Kruger National Park, through the Orpen Gate, and visit the famous Blyde River Canyon and God's Window. Later we begin our return journey to Johannesburg where sadly we say goodbye. |
